Happy Year of the Rat!

Updated: Jan 15, 2022

January 25th marked the beginning of this year's 15 day Lunar New Year Celebration. This time of year is so special because it is a time for families to come together, to remember loved ones that have passed, continue traditions, and eat yummy, symbolic foods.

In celebration of Lunar New Year, Sifu Mike gave red envelopes to his students and performed a traditional lion dance for several local businesses with the help of some of his students and instructors. We were so excited to be able to perform, but to also show how much Kung Fu means to us. It is such an honor watching our students progress in class, but it's also amazing to watch them have the confidence to perform outside of the academy. Thank you again to those students and parents who volunteered to help.

At the end of Lunar New Year (2/8), there will be annual Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco. One Tribe students will be performing with the Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy beginning at 5:15pm. Click here for more information about the SF Lunar New Year Parade. We are always appreciative to be able to participate in this spectacular event. It makes us so proud to represent our school and also showcase our Kung Fu talent! We hope this New Year brings all of you lots of good luck and prosperity! Gung Hay Fat Choy!
